Clearing some underbrush

One mistake I've noticed with the budget developer is the tendancy for webservie functions to grow like weeds. With a week left before deployment it's time to take a crack at seperating out those functions that are no longer required...

The title idea came from Susan Berglund who continuously referred to herself as a "techno-peasant." The image of a group of 'it takes a villagers' storming technical support demanding something that works is oddly attractive to me.

So, while Peasants is not a workplace blog or a sanctioned Easter Seals Southern California Blog, in general it is about using technology at the Easter Seals, in Southern California. This should not be suprising since "Peasants" sole author (yours truly) is the Chief Information Officer for the Easter Seals in.... you guessed it, Southern California.

I find it is often helpful for me to be forced to write a narrative, when examining or researching technology, since it tends to force me to drop buzzwords and provide for, hopefully, clear thoughts in plain english. In the past those took the form of a white paper to nowhere; a written document that I never tried to have anyone read. A blog seems easier, since it can self-organize like a diary.

It will serve that purpose, so it doesn't matter that much if anyone ever reads it.
